Flight-Sharing is just ride-sharing by aircraft: the costs of the flight – such as fuel – are split fairly among everyone on board, including the pilot. This idea – that the pilot bears a fair share of the costs – makes the difference between flight-sharing and air charter (as described on the Charter Flight tab). Of course, a pilot may offer a flight as a gift — that’s OK. But only air charter operators may receive compensation for flying you to and from the Playa. If you have concerns about an improper flight-sharing arrangement, please send an email to airport@burningman.com
